The Finished Piece - Stained Glass Abstract

Saturday I was able to go into the garage and spend a fair bit of time working on my latest stained glass piece. It was a slow, but fun process as I was designing as I went.

Here you can see the piece together and ready for soldering. The nice thing about lead came construction is minor imperfections in your glass cutting are covered by the lead channel allowing you to achieve nice clean lines. This was especially important as this piece is mostly straight lines.

Patty helped with the design, suggesting the addition of the glass globs. I think they really add to the piece. Adding the globs diverges a bit from what was intended to be a prarire style abstract, but looking at the finished product shows it was the right decision.

All that's left to do is to put a coating of protective wax on it, build a wood frame  and it's ready for hanging in a window.

gorgeous - love the 2 round pieces - they must be challenging to incorporate.

Very cool TJ - looks like Frank Lloyd Wright meets Picasso!
