A fascination with the moon

I've taken a bit of a break since completing the sun & moon. The energies to start a new panel just weren't there. There's been a lot going on taking those energies I normally have for my creative pursuits elsewhere. Time has elapsed and these energies are slowly flowing back in.

I enjoyed making the last panel and really liked how the moon came out especially after the light faded in the late afternoon. It's fall now and while the colors of autumn are exploding all around us I see the emergence of winter peeking around the corner.

While my abstracts are of my own design, I find inspiration for my panels all around me, most recently from Michelle Basic Hendry (http://artscapes.ca/). Michelle is a wonderful artist working in many mediums. Earlier in her career Michelle worked in stained glass. One of the pieces she created was called "Winter Moon".

I love the design of this piece and the emotion it evokes. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery and I am contemplating making a version of this panel for myself. I've reached out to Michelle to make sure she is okay with this. It is such a unique design.

In the meantime I plan to create a small abstract to reawaken my fingers to the art. I'll post progress pics as I have them.
