My brother Ken finished the piece in an English walnut stain to match the color of the booths in his restaurant. Several coats of finish later and the unit is installed in his restaurant. I think it turned out pretty well.
Here's a recent shot with the wine completely filled in.
The base of the unit is interesting. It is wedge shaped to accommodate a 3/4 " slope in the floor (back to front). Kenny took this shot to show that it's completely level. :)
